looks like you have a history with religion, but your thesis lack a disassociation with human nature; human has the potential to transcends their worldly desire and create a Just society ( we can look at example of David) while can also become a subordinate of Evil and Unleash all the lower desires it posses; lust, power to acquire more resources ( US and Europe Colonization are more recent examples) ..
