What is a Muslim
even Muslims do not know why it's not easy to be a Mulsim
On a legal level, to become a Muslim one has to accept and say these words consciously.
There is no one worthy of worship except Allah (God) and Muhammad is the Final Apostle (Messenger) of God.”
Believing above consciously is the first step, then it gets harder and harder from that position, if one is truly a believer; God will test it in different ways, and through its action one has to show strength in what it claims.
The ˹true˺ believers are only those whose hearts tremble at the remembrance of Allah, whose faith increases when His revelations are recited to them, and who put their trust in their Lord.
They are those who establish prayer and donate from what We have provided for them. It is they who are the true believers. They will have elevated ranks, forgiveness, and an honorable provision from their Lord. Quran 8:3
True Believer, Only God can judge how much a person truly believes in compared to what one claims ( Legal Muslim)
The Arabs of the desert say, ‘We believe.’ Say, “You have not believed yet; but rather say, ‘We have accepted Islam,’ for the true belief has not yet entered into your hearts.” But if you obey Allah and His Messenger, He will not detract anything from your deeds Surely, Allah is Most Forgiving, Merciful. The believers are only those who truly believe in Allah and His Messenger, and then doubt not, but strive with their possessions and their persons in the cause of Allah. It is they who are truthful.
The [true] believers are only those who believe in Allah and His Messenger — never doubting — and strive with their wealth and their lives in the cause of Allah. They are the ones true in faith.
Muslim by trait, Islam emphasizes deeds rather than ideas, hence as soon one becomes Muslim it's expected that it will be reflected in one's actions
“who believe in the unseen, establish prayer, and donate from what We have provided for them.” [Surah Al-Bakarah verse 3]
“Those who humble themselves in prayer.” [Al-Mu’minun verse 2]
“O believers! Fasting is prescribed for you — as it was for those before you — so perhaps you will become mindful (of Allah).”
Believe in here-after,
“And who believe in what has been revealed to you, O Prophet (SAW), and what was revealed before you, and have sure faith in the Hereafter.”
Muslim by ethics and morality
“O believers! Be mindful of Allah Almighty and be truthful. [Surah At-Tawbah verse 119]
“Be gracious, enjoin what is right, and turn away from those who act ignorantly.” [Surah Al-A’raf 199]
“The (true) servants of the Most Compassionate are those who walk on the earth humbly, and when the foolish address them ˹improperly˺, they only respond with peace.”
“Those who guard their chastity.” [Surah Al-Mu’minun 5]
Muslims avoid bad deeds and struggle to achieve what is good
“Those who avoid idle talk.” [Al-Mu’minun, verse 3]
“O believers! Shall I guide you to an exchange that will save you from a painful punishment? It is to have faith in Allah Almighty and His Messenger and strive in the cause of Allah (SWT) with your wealth and your lives. That is best for you if only you knew.” [Surah As-Saf 10–11]
“The (true) servants of the Most Compassionate are those who walk on the earth humbly, and when the foolish address them ˹improperly˺, they only respond with peace.”
“Avoid the 7 great destructive sins.” The Muslims enquired, “O Allaah’s Apostle! What are they? “He said, “To join others in worship along with Allaah (shirk), to practice sorcery (magic), to kill the life which Allaah has forbidden except for a just cause(according to Islaamic law) (murder), to eat up Ribah (usury) (interest), to eat up an orphan’s wealth (usurp), to give back to the enemy & fleeing from the battlefield at the time of fighting (cowardice), & to accuse chaste women, who has never thought of anything touching her chastity & are good believers (false accusation).”
What is a Muslim - Concerning their neighbor
Ibn Abbas reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “He is not a believer whose stomach is full while the neighbor to his side is starving.”
Anas ibn Malik reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The believer is one who is trusted by people. The Muslim is one from whose tongue and hand Muslims are safe. The emigrant is one who emigrates away from evil. By the One in whose hand is my soul, a servant will not enter Paradise if his neighbor is not secure from his evil.”
“He is not a believer whose neighbor is not safe from his malevolence.”
“Anybody who believes in Allaah & the Last Day should not harm his neighbour, & anybody who believes in Allaah & the Last Day should entertain his guest generously & anybody who believes in Allaah & the Last Day should talk what is good or keep quiet.”
What is a Muslim — Concerning their kin
The true believer loves for his brother what he loves for himself of good things. Without possessing this quality, one has not yet reached the level of true and complete Imaan.
None of you [truly] believes until he loves for his brother that which he loves for himself.
Do not shun each other; do not ignore one another; do not hate one another; & do not envy one another; & be brothers with one another, O slaves of Allaah. No Muslim is allowed to shun his (Muslim) brother for more than 3 days
What is a Mulsim — In Love and Respect for the Prophet
“But no, by your Lord, they can have no Faith, until they make you (O Muhammad) judge in all disputes between them, and find in themselves no resistance against your decisions, and accept (them) with full submission.” [TMQ 4:65]
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said; “None of you have iman until I am more beloved to him than his self, his children, his family and all of mankind.” [Agreed upon]
“Say (O Muhammad) to mankind): “If you love Allah, then follow me and Allah will love you and forgive you of your sins. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” [TMQ 3:31]
What is a Muslim — Protector of Other people's wealth and lives
❛The [true] Mu’min (i.e. believer) is the one whom the people feel safe with their lives and their wealth.
And, O my people, give full measure and weight justly, and defraud not men of their things, and act not corruptly in the land making mischief. What remains with Allah is better for you, if you are believers
A believer is one who forgives and tolerates people’s mistakes because Allah loves those who forgive others and will reward them on the Day of Resurrection.
What is a Muslim — Treating one's family
The best among you are those who give the best treatment to their wives.
“Whoever does not show affection to the young & respect to the old is not one of us.”
“Allaah’s Pleasure lies in the pleasure of one’s parents; while His Wrath too lies in the wrath of theirs.”
What is a Muslim — When treating others
“The one who helps widows & poor people is like a warrior fighting for Allaah’s Cause or like a person who fasts during the day & prays all the night.”
“Those who cheat are not of us.”
‘Whoever supports an orphan from among his own or any other family will be as close to me in Heaven as these fingers are close to each other.”
What is a Muslim — Replacing Evil
Whoever sees something evil should change it with his hands (unless by doing this it creates a bigger evil). If he cannot, then with his tongue; & if he cannot do even that, then in his heart, which is the weakest degree of faith
If one thinks it's easy to fulfill all these obligations and be aware of one's actions and intentions; think again. Prophet and his companions have set the bar too high and one has to constantly be on the look for slipping on the way.
Unfortunately, many Muslims will read through these without contemplating fixing and applying them in their lives; but people do not realize it is quite a heavy responsibility when one says there is no God but God.
Over the years we have attached love and association with small gods wealth, family, groups, greed, status, and ego. To be a true believer one has to destroy all those idols; then once one can expect to find a true God otherwise it's a fool world we are living in.
Yeh Shadath Gahe Ulfat Main Qadam Rakhna Hai
Log Asaan Samjhte Hain Musalman Hona
If you believe(shahada)then it means you are entering the world of love.
People Think that it is easy to become a Muslim.
