West has checkmated itself

How Rapture and Accelerationism join hands in Trumpism

7 min readApr 7, 2025

Let's look at the different ideologies driving Trump's decision-making

On a simple level, it's a reversal of Neo-Liberalism, Anti-Globalization, Anti-Immigrant, Anti-Woke, and what Trump and his supporters think will make America great again.

The second term of the trump era is marked by a radical move away from soft power and diplomacy and give and take towards hard power, threats, “you do not have the cards,” and “my way or highway”.

Self Reflection

The phenomenon of Trumpism should propel intellectuals and thinkers to reflect on the pathway that Western democracies have taken over the years.

It should wake them up from the hallucination that Western civilization is the best humanity can achieve, as Fukuyama declared it when the Cold War ended, but it turned out to be a lie.

The idea was that liberal democracy and a free market were the best approaches to move the world forward, and other countries would follow suit soon after by noticing its blooming effect in Western societies.

But it's failing in its own countries where it started…

First US hegemony of war hysteria around the world created a mass refugee crisis in Europe, and those refugees who traveled in search of a better life were not able to assimilate. Europe failed to produce a leader who could see that coming; instead it kept following its master, perpetuating war after war.

In Europe and the West, societies were established with the idea of liberal and individual values, which over time have proven not to be a great tool for uniting people and giving them a sense of community; they become atoms in a quantum space.

Because everyone is free to follow their desire and truth, instead of keeping their leader in check and moving towards taking care of the poor and weak and creating a harmonious society, they allow an elitist group to emerge who yield more power than politicians in controlling the algorithms and controlling their lives.

Western leaders and policy have allowed immigrants, mainly from the colonized world of the past, to move in and settle, since it allows an easier way to increase productivity and GDP without doing the hard part of manufacturing. Thought was developing world can do away with cheap labor, and we control the money supply through financial institutions, stock, and complex financial assets — but over time, China, Vietnam, and other players went ahead in making quality products with less resources while western societies were stuck with incompetent leaders and laurels of past inventions.

The rise of China has proven that you can do economically well and progress through curbing people's freedom and having a one-party dictatorship, where elites and oligarchs, along with the collaboration of one party, can be a better formula to run a country and progress materially — Trump and right parties now believe that is the model to adopt to create a surveillance state with less right and more control; but does it suite their legacy and history?

In a nutshell US Empire, which Europe followed as second fiddle and considered itself the torch bearer of progress and a civilization to be looked upon, failed to hold its promises and values.

It ends up as a war-mongering economy, where other countries' wealth and prosperity were targeted to serve a few; in the facade of international law and institutions, and to maintain or control the status quo.

West's idea of multiculturalism, liberal democracy, international law, and free trade failed under its own weight, and as a reflex mechanism, it's trying to fall back to its Old Gods and ideals of a White race, Christian Nationalism, Protective Economy, and Anti-Globalization are resurrected.

Israel question

If at the end of the day, money, propaganda, and deceit are the order of the day, then Israel is good at that game; it has many pawns in the US Congress and a strong lobby system in the form of AIPAC.

Israel exploits all these weaknesses in the West to its advantage, manipulating politicians, mainstream media, and techno-fiedualist in making decision and pacts that suits itself.

A common Westerner is sold fear and lies all the time, Israel is the only democracy in town but yet Bibi is in power forever. You are supposed to condemn Russia when it perpetuates war on Ukraine, but when innocent people die in Palestine, it is said to be a complex issue. Westerner is supposed to look at China with disdain, with all the curb it put on its citizens’ freedom, but when Israel makes Gaza a concentration camp, it's for its sovereignty and protection?

You cannot live with lies and double standards forever, especially with social media; the narratives have fallen and the mask is off, which creates a greater divide in Western societies.

Trumpism — a Fall Back

When the existing structure begins to fail, secondary forces take over in an attempt to redeem the ailing empire; they may seem unrelated, but in front of fear, ego, and machoism, hardly anything stands.

Trump is a complex character, but few traits are prominent; he is a deal maker and can move things with his uncanny talks and behaviour. He thinks he is a devout white Christian, has an ego as tall tree, and is on a quest to make America great again.

Accelerationism— Accelerationism is the belief that societal collapse is inevitable and that accelerating this process will hasten the emergence of a new order

For Trump to succeed, he needs control over the non traidiotal media to shape narrative and billions to run his campaigns and challenge the Chinese in technology race; this is where technocrats like Elon and the PayPal Mafia come in, who believe in a world run by tech gurus and algorithms and neural link, where there is no control and regulations ( anti-government and anti-institutes).

White Christian Nationalism -White Christian nationalism posits that the United States was founded as a Christian nation and seeks to privilege Christian values in governance. During Trump’s tenure, this ideology gained prominence, with many supporters viewing him as divinely chosen to restore America’s Christian heritage. This belief was evident in Trump’s rhetoric, such as referring to his campaign as a “righteous crusade” against perceived threats to Christian values.

This is a knee-jerk reaction to a fact that the birth rates in the Western hemisphere have been falling, which means a dying white race.

Rapture Theology — Evangelicals

Rapture theology, rooted in certain Christian eschatological beliefs, anticipates a future event where believers are taken up to heaven, preceding a period of tribulation on Earth.

Most of Trump’s evangelical supporters view his presidency through this lens, interpreting political events as signs of the approaching end times. This perspective influences their support, seeing Trump’s actions as part of a divine plan leading to the rapture. 

These supporters vote and fund based on making Israel great, which means undue and unequivocal support to Israel with no questions asked. Because once Israel is great, Jesus will return to fulfill this prophecy of rapture, and these Christians will be saved forever (ironically after supporting and celebrating to kill millions of people)

Donald Trump’s decision-making is complex and hard to understand because it's influenced by a confluence of ideologies, including white Christian nationalism, accelerationism, and interpretations of Evangelical belief in rapture theology. These beliefs have shaped his policies, the composition of his cabinet, and the perspectives of his donors.

The convergence of these ideologies has led to policies aimed at integrating Christian principles into governance, reducing regulatory oversight, and challenging established democratic norms. Initiatives such as “Project 2025” outline plans to overhaul federal agencies, emphasizing loyalty to the administration’s ideological stance.

This ideological amalgamation has sparked debates about the future of democracy in the United States and set it on track for a theocratic governance model — not so distinct from China.

Concluding Thoughts

Western societies have had a good run, but now they have dug themselves into a deep hole; they can't let any other nation prosper and live in peace.

Nation-state is also a Western idea — after the world wars, where nations are supposed to take care of their people and be sovereign, but time has shown that is not true there is always an external pressure and a super state trying to impose its way of life on smaller countries and looting their resources and toppling government — Would I be wrong to state that liberal idea of Secular Nationalist state has failed and institutes like UN and international instritues are just a mount piece of these super state?

The advent of Trump has raised questions on all these Western ideals of Multiculturalism, Free trade, Monetary System, Individualism, and even Free speech is questionable today.

We are entering a war era- the majority of Muslim countries have already been burning in it for the last 20 years at least, but now it's close to erupting and engulfing the whole world.
