We, humans, define any situation through the values that we hold true or how we come to understand the world, you took the disposition that religion is bad and a secular liberal way of life is better, but the West who proclaims to be the holder of Secular, Liberal values are the one who decided to settle a JEWish state in the middle of an Arab land, where historically all the communities are living in harmony ( Christian, Jews and Muslims, .. )
So Brits decided to settle Jewish state ( Balfour declaration) , because it was Jewish promised land, instead of solving or integrating the society the policy was to replace the existing population and settle more Jewish families and then Uncle SAM came along providing Billions of dollars, and providing military's support for what? suppress the local population and make the Jewish state more powerful ( will share some links below for reference) but is this holding liberal, secular values of freedom and basic human rights?
This conflict is about freedom and basic right, consider someone knocking on your door and asking please leave and Xy has designated this place to me and then use force and every other way to push you out and nobody comes out to help you or support you, how peaceful you would be in such a situation. After supporting the Jewish regime the West was pushing all the Arab countries in the region to normalize the ties and accept the state of oppression. Now in this situation when you are oppressed for decades and nobody comes for help and there is no chance of someone standing for your rights they react and stand ..
The problem is West wears a cloak of the secular, liberal order but they are in bed with a Jewish state based on religious belief as well (the second coming of Jesus tied to building the third temple , link below ), but the common taxpayers have been blinded by secular, liberal ideals, either a westerner is too obsessed with themselves ( Obesity, Entertainment, Identity, ...) or those who read the Media and stay informed are being consented to these ideals of morality, FYI both world wars, millions death, destruction of Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Yemen , ... has nothing religious about them they are enforced by rulers who claim they are Secular, Liberal leaders but are driven by Colonization ideas (or Cult like belive) and apply them to another part of the world in the name of democracy, freedom, and false flag operations ( and sometimes use UN as well for their purposes), they support corrupt leaders or dictators on those lands and put out leader ( Saddam, Qadafi, Morsi, .. ) who do not comply to them and make sure they stay in debt and corrupt ....
Need wisdom and courage to remove layers and layers of deception to see past these issues rather than simplifying them as religious wars, though I Agree that Palestinian land is sacred to both Muslims, Jews, and Christians but majority of Muslims do not claim the right to land-based on that but they are the residents there and being pushed out of their land and it's their right to stand for freedom but yet again West is controlling the narrative through media and not allowing protestors, is this not denying the basic rights in a democratic free world?
