east when become stable ( especially during Muslim rule) were spending time else where like Art , Science , Theology but since in medieval time most of Europe were fighting each other they become really good at that and also later when Ottomans blocked them with trade and created a buffer they spend more time on building and improving naval capabilities , So when Europe become relatively peace full and decided instead of fighting each other why not get resources from other places and the descend started and still going on

Problem with Christianity is in my opinion is it vastly differs what Jesus preached and thought which is monotheism and with Paul and later Constantine but significant changes ( and introduced wierd concept original sin , trinity , ..)

biggest problem is faith will cause salvation and actions are not important ; this in fact cause more harm than good , that is why after renaissance people started hating religion because Pope with his undue power of forgiveness created an an unjust society and mostly westerners were not introduced to Islam but with time , internet and immigrants that is changing
