In my understanding most of believers and non- believers are just following what is norm or popular in their society instead of believing it with certainty.

most of the Muslims are only Muslims because they are born into ( i guess we can agree on it)

I am also against norm setup by Muslim majority countries , they are stuck in kind of orthodoxy , colonization also has an impact and most of them has rulers which are puppet set up colonizers and they never able to get away from them, but still what they claim to believe is not what they practice else they will be in lot better condition

This is one the main reason when many educated person in Muslims countries ( which are mostly in East) look toward western countries they see them as better humans , with more advance civilization and better economic condition etc and they despise their culture and country because they see these Muslim/Islam as holding them back in their own countries - Ayaan Harris Ali is some what like that in that category.

In west IMO problem is because of Christianity , because its got corrupted , Jesus never preached that he is God and when religion got illogical (which most people follows in west) eventually with reformation and renaissance people realize that religion was holding them back - (that is first post in this thread where you commented on). Western reaction was to make individual as supreme and his desire and thoughts become sacred

Anyways in my thesis problem is not of religion in both East and West , but circumstances, human weakness and corruption of religion hence we see a different reaction to organized religion

I am not saying you did not look at all options and truth claim and do no find the truth - may be you did your research - but most human are lazy enough to follow what is popular or norm and they find a way to explain it to themselves

So why I am answering or writing - because how I see it we as a whole are going toward decline , with disunity , inequality, conflicts and has been ruled by capitalistic elites who rule us in name of democracy while continuing to destroy the one place we call earth. I want people to leave this earth (when they die) in a better place which could be achieved by unity but if we all follow our own desires we cannot be united; this same mechanism has been used over centuries to divide people into group so they can continue with status quo.

Evil and people who are under its influence are certain while others are filled with uncertainties or do not care attitude ; I think certainty of good men are needed to counter it else we will keep going into the pit hole. Also i see Atheist continue to blame religion but if one can think we are living in a secular world for few decades at least in west yet we are continuing to see this dip and disunity and social issue so not sure why religion is to be blame they need to find a better ideology to fix the world

Truth - we can both agree I guess that Sex ( out of wedlock), gambling, alcohol, drugs are not good for society ( which most religion set as don't) leaving them will safe millions of life and broken families but do you see Atheist writing against these or pushing govt or rallying people to make laws to stop them , why ? banning them will leave a society in better shape ; none of the secular country able to make it in law (this truth can be reached with logic and rationality )
