i think this definition of human is pretty rudimentary , human are quite more than these basic animal instinct have free will and consciousness ( which are not needed for evolution) and make us a different category

Yes we have lower desire but we have capability to transcend those , we have innate feeling/urge to find fairness, justice, truth , beauty , compassion and love

bigger problem is we have arrive at wrong definition of human and dissolved our relation ship with a bigger ego that have put those qualities; so we become owner/vicegerent of this world and recognize ourselves ; but with Darwin/Materialism are ohappy inonly focussing on those lower desire (instead utilizing them for greater cause)
